WA POOL & OUTDOOR DESIGN: ISSUE 1
The homeowners of the featured outdoor project requested a contemporary design to enhance the entertaining capacity of the space and to maximise the usability of the rear garden area. This involved the inclusion of a pool and covered entertaining area with modern finishes. Designed by Matthew Gee and directed by Ryan Healy of Newforms Landscape Architecture, the project was built by PHASE3 Landscape Construction.
Aside from the stunning, sleek pool, the project boasts a contemporary pavilion perfect for entertaining. Strong emphasis was placed on minimising the size of the pavilion in order to adhere to the space restrictions, and this was achieved as the end result illustrates an elegant, simplistic structure with an unimposing presence. The beautiful recycled blackbutt timber decking used also blends together well with its surrounds and provides a neat space for alfresco cooking, entertaining and dining.
The northern boundary wall to the rear of the pool and pavilion has been intentionally created at varying heights to create interest and provide screening as well as supporting the pavilion roof structure. Custom galvanised steel fins were designed to echo the rectilinear form of the boundary walls and to provide security to the offset of the blade walls.
